Phase II Engineering Report, Reconstruction & Annual Inspections, American Felt Dam — Greenwich, Connecticut

LEI prepared a Phase II engineering report and plans and specifications for the reconstruction of the 28-foot high masonry American Felt Dam in Greenwich, Connecticut. Constructed in 1867 on the Byram River, the dam's watershed encompasses approximately 25.3 square miles. Prior to reconstruction, dislodged stones led to seepage problems. Before LEI's involvement, repeated repair attempts proved to be ineffective.

Permits required for the reconstruction of the American Felt Dam included Connecticut DEEP Inland Water Resources Permit and Drainage Encroachment Permit and U.S. Corps of Engineers Permit. LEI has conducted annual inspections of the dam since reconstruction.
