Parks and Recreational Facilities
A successful park system incorporates spaces for contemplation, display of art, community activities, playgrounds, trails, sporting activities, recreational facilities, monuments, water features and interpretive exhibits. With land at a premium in many neighborhoods, the development of a park often entails either the reclamation of land from a previous use such as agricultural and industrial land or the preservation of raw land and historic sites.
LEI's staff of landscape architects and engineers have the design experience and capability to work with community members to transform raw or reclaimed land into functional, inviting park and recreational systems that become destinations for community members and visitors.
Following are LEI Project examples for Parks and Recreational Facilities:
Dr. Arthur and Dr. Martha Pappas Recreational Complex — Auburn, Massachusetts
Winsted Riverfront Recapture: Revitalization Phases I & II — Winsted, Connecticut
Heritage Walkway and Riverside Park — Thompson, Connecticut
