Planning and Permitting
The first step in any water supply project is proper planning. Water supply planning is done, not only to meet state regulatory requirements, but also to proceed in the most cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner. In Connecticut, the state Department of Public Health requires all public and private water utilities to prepare a comprehensive water supply plan and, subsequently, update that plan every five years. LEI is an industry leader in the water supply planning field and has prepared nearly 100 CT DPH-approved plans to date. In Massachusetts, we have provided planning of water supplies with permitting through the MA DEP for new as well as extensions of water supply systems.
Let LEI assist you when you next evaluate your system and plan new sources of supply, water treatment evaluations, pumping stations, distribution system improvements, water tank sizing and site studies, cost-benefit studies, or rate impact studies.
LEI’s water supply personnel include risk assessment trained (RAW-W) project managers and industrial and utility security professionals who conduct vulnerability assessments and prepare emergency operations plans.
