Hilltop Apartments, University of Connecticut —
To meet an increasing need for student housing on its Storrs campus, the University of Connecticut selected Capstone Development to design, build and operate a 1,000-bed, 14-building on-campus apartment complex. LEI provided site and utility planning, permitting and design services for the 35-acre site including domestic and water booster station, fire suppression water, stormwater, sanitary sewer and wastewater pump station, natural gas, telephone, CATV, data communications and electrical power.
Key DEEP permits included Flood Management Certification and General Permit for Stormwater from Construction Activities. The zero-increase stormwater management plan included a six acre-foot detention basin.
