Water distribution storage may be provided in either subsurface or elevated storage tanks. The purposes for water storage include operating storage, fire-reserve storage, and emergency-reserve storage. Operating and fire-reserve storage capacity is provided to satisfy peak hourly demand rates or peak fire flow rates which are greater than the basic supply and transmission capacity. Emergency-reserve storage provides water during an interruption in supply or a breakdown in basic supply or transmission facilities. Elevated storage also stabilizes pressures in the system and allows gravity distribution during power outages when pumping stations might be out of service.
LEI’s water storage design experience includes water storage tank site studies, preliminary design and cost estimating, water tank designs, small system storage designs, and water tank maintenance projects.
Following are LEI Project examples in Water Storage:
Water Storage Tank Replacement — Barre, Massachusetts
New Water Storage Tank — Waterford, Connecticut
New Water Storage Tank — Jewett City, Connecticut
Water Storage Tank Maintenance — Waterford, Connecticut
