Prospect Street Roadway Reconstruction & Realignment — Winsted, Connecticut

The Town of Winchester hired LEI to prepare design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for the realignment and full-depth reconstruction of approximately 2,700 LF of Prospect Street between Lake and Bridge Streets in Winsted.

The project included design of a retaining wall, the replacement of 2,300 LF of water mains and sanitary sewers, and replacement of 30 sanitary and water service connections.

LEI also provided construction administration and observation services for the roadway and utility projects. LEI inspectors knew the schedules of the Prospect Street residents and the times when they would need to access local roadways to leave for work, leave for school, return from work, etc. LEI inspectors worked with contractors to provide the minimum amount of disturbance to the neighborhood.

Funding for roadway reconstruction was provided through the Connecticut DOT Surface Transportation Program; utilities replacements were funded through a Small Cities Community Development Block Grant.
