Replacement Sanitary Sewers & Laterals, Prospect Street Reconstruction — Winsted, Connecticut
This project involved the complete reconstruction of Prospect Street, a 2,300-foot heavily traveled local road. Work included a new retaining wall to support the road, sanitary sewer lines and laterals, water distribution lines and service lines, storm sewers, sidewalks, and parking lane on one side of the road.
The project was complicated by a steep retaining wall on one side of the road and houses very close to the street on the other. The work was phased over two construction seasons.
Replacing the sanitary and stormwater sewers and water mains in advance of the road work allowed the utilities to remain in service during the major construction.
